The statement "the left’s general rejection of leadership and inability to work in effective coalitions" really resonated with me. The feeling of disorganisation at rallies, the lack of a grand unified purpose... I often wonder if the socialist worker owned organisations imagined by the "left" would really work at a geopolitical level, let alone state level.

That's a good question, Craig. I don't know. But I do know that the "natural" number of social relationships we've evolved for is pretty low. The right has been able to bypass this, in part, because of an embrace of leadership, patriarchy, and other hierarchical or authoritarian systems. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunbar%27s_number

I think we should stop using "the right" or "the left" for that matter. Btw. Tribalism is not super helpful in this "fight". I'm pro climate change fighting, but also pro business. Am I left or right? Neither. I am fighting business about climate change, and building businesses that operate with the climate in mind. I, like many others, don't belong to these tribes.
