I’d like to read the briefing for the necessity defense, if you are able to link it. Or could you give me the case number, and I can grab it off Pacer. I’m loving this strategy! Also, the paintings of the defenders are so good. Thanks for sharing those.
Sure, Rebecca! The case number is CV 23,487 in the Sixth Judicial District Court in Nevada. Or if you want to shoot me an email by responding to my Substack emails or via my contact page, I'll send you the PDF. We're still quite early in the case -- this filing was part of the defendants' answer and affirmative defenses to the amended complaint from Lithium Nevada Corporation -- so we haven't gotten to the stage where there is much substance to the arguments yet.
Glad to have found you here on Substack. Awesome work, and - finally - nice to see even a.mention of how we must work with and support our frontline First Nations people and Elders. They've been doing the work for so long. We have so much to learn.
Bright Green Lies is indeed a must read for all. The documentary by the same name is a must view. Both can be found linked on the postdoom.com website, along with Max's conversation with Michael Dowd. Max is an actual true environmentalist who really understand exactly what the term means: it's not about saving civilization, but instead about saving what is left of the wild world.
Sending prayers your way! Thank you for all that you are doing! I got chills reading your defense. And was very happy to hear about the USFW lawsuit. Are y'all behind that as well?
I know you will. When I wrote my article on Thacker Pass so long ago, I didn't have a clue to you or the enormity of what you're fighting. Much admiration and much hope for success. I continue writing on all subjects revolving around climate change. There is no bigger issue.

Ok, awesome, thanks Max. I’ll track it down when the substantive briefing gets filed.
Great! I'll probably write about that here, too, so you won't miss it!
Great work, truly heroic and inspiring. Keep going.
Thank you!

Cheers, Peter!
Thank you for educating us about this. I'm over here on the East coast, and had no idea. I need to read your book.
Thank you for reading and for your work!

Thank you for all those resources.
Just posting a comment to both agree (about the book and documentary) and to give a microscopic boost to the algorithms. 🙌✨
I hope that this novel defense strategy is successful not just for you and Will but because it would set a good precedent.
Definitely. We've got a long ways to go at this point.
Sending prayers your way! Thank you for all that you are doing! I got chills reading your defense. And was very happy to hear about the USFW lawsuit. Are y'all behind that as well?
Thanks Ashley! No, that lawsuit was brought by Western Watersheds Project. We'll see what comes of it.
This looks like a promising strategy. Hopefully a precedent setter for so many similar situations.
We hope so. Calling it an uphill battle is an understatement, but we'll fight like hell.
