The economics of industrial society, and I don't mean just the U.S., is based on destroying the natural environment. The Bureau of Livestock and Mining doesn't give a damn about the natural environment, or about native ecosystems, habitats, plants, animals, or other species. That agency only cares about supporting the interests of ranchers and miners.

It's amazing to me that the Center for Biological Diversity wins 90% of its cases in court, considering these things. But Max couldn't be more right, the deck is heavily stacked against the natural environment and all the native life there. "Green" energy and technology marches on, killing the Earth and the life here as all other industries do.
